The St. Louis PetLover Coalition fosters collaborative efforts of local animal welfare groups and the community to promote responsible pet ownership and to increase the save rate of companion animals in our community

Who We Are

The St. Louis PetLover Coalition was formed in the spring of 2009 when public and private, large and small, city and county animal service providers came together to discuss improving the lives of dogs and cats in our community. Nestlé Purina convened the original group to share ideas, begin committee work to achieve goals that no one group can achieve alone, and to develop a community-wide comprehensive animal welfare plan by 2010. This plan, called the Vision and Goals 2014, is a 5 year plan developed with experts in our community and is designed to bring more resources to the organizations in the working group to begin to solve the problems identified in the plan. We seek involvement from corporations, foundations, civic leaders, educational institutions, students, health care/social welfare groups and others who share in the mission of increasing the save rate of dogs and cats in our community, and the people who care for them. While focusing on St. Louis City and St. Louis County in the beginning, those in adjacent counties with similar missions are welcome to contact us to build bridges toward a unified future.

The St. Louis PetLover Coalition is not a separate legal entity, but is a working group of those supporting its mission. It meets on a monthly basis.
